ICCGB Accredited Breeder Scheme

The accredited breeder scheme helps puppy buyers to select from a breeder who has met the standards of the ICCGB for their kennel and their parent dogs. Becoming an accredited breeder has a number of benefits, listed below and varying by breeder tier.

Breeder Excellence Tiers

Platinum - £100

Requirements

  • Meets minimum health test requirements (hips, elbows, DSRA). Additional health tests such as DNA genetic panel test encouraged.
  • All dogs registered with ICCGB (or applied for).
  • Council licensing encouraged if requirements are met
  • Paid up general membership (annual renewals)
  • Have been visited by an ICCGB representative to ensure health, temperament and quality of the dogs and the suitability of the breeding facility & programme
  • Maintenance fee annually to maintain accreditation status and annual video call with representative to ensure that standards are maintained.

Benefits

  • Listing on the website as a platinum accredited breeder
  • Official ICCGB prefix registration included
  • Single dog registrations of breeding age dogs included in the application price if applying at the same time
  • Platinum certification icon for your social media pages or kennel website & breeder banners, plus HTML button for your website to link direct to ICCGB
  • Platinum accreditation certificate
  • Free entry to shows and discounted entry fees for shows, sports and other activities run by the club.
  • Free entry to the annual stud book to advertise your kennel or a single dog (such as stud)

 

Gold - £50

Requirements:

  • Meets minimum health test requirements (hips, elbows, DSRA). Additional health tests such as DNA genetic panel test encouraged.
  • All dogs registered with ICCGB (or applied for).
  • Council licensing encouraged if requirements are met
  • Paid up general membership (annual renewals)
  • Maintenance fee annually to maintain accreditation status.

Silver - £30

Requirements:

  • Meets all required health testing
  • Paid up general member (including annual renewal)
  • Maintenance fee annually to maintain accreditation status.

How do I become an Accredited Breeder with The ICCGB

Platinum Breeders 

  • Facility Inspection: Be prepared for an inspection of your breeding facility by a representative of the ICCGB. 
  • Animal Evaluation: Have your breeding animals evaluated for health, temperament, and conformity to breed standards.
  • As well as meet the gold and silver standards below.

Gold and Silver Breeders

  • Purchase your tier via the breed shop: After your purchase, you will receive a digital download that links you to our form. Fill this out, and provide required documentation, such as health records and pedigrees.
  • Code of Ethics: Adhere to the code of ethics and breeding standards set by the ICCGB.
  • Responsible Breeding: Implement responsible breeding practices, including selecting suitable breeding pairs, providing adequate care, and ensuring the well-being of all animals.
  • Approval: Once you have met all requirements, you will receive your accreditation certificate.
  • Listing: Your name and contact information may be listed on the accredited breeder page.
  • Compliance: Continuously comply with the standards and requirements of the ICCGB.
  • Renewal: Renew your accreditation periodically, which may involve additional inspections, updated documentation, and continued education.
  • Reporting: Report any significant changes in your breeding operation to the ICCGB.
  • Promote Accreditation: Promote your status as an accredited breeder in your marketing materials, website, and advertisements.
